elliott smith Posted by Hello

elliott (smith) bulfin?

holly (sister) likes 'elliott' as a name. she originally said 'elliot' but it would definitely have to be a two 't' elliott - as in the wonderful musician elliott smith (above)

the jury is still out on this one ...

getting huge, eugene!

yep, e is getting larger by the minute - not as drastic as Violet from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, but almost ...

But you know what they say ... never call a pregnant woman ... late for dinner!

congrats to mark, anita and family!

Good friends of ours, Mark and Anita, have just given birth to a healthy son. They've named him BRAXTON - which I think is a fantastic name.

Congratulations, guys, we love you and hope you are both well.

perhaps this will help?

Baby Names

try before you ... name

Since we were married almost 2 1/2 years ago, Emma and I have had an 'issue' with boys names. We have found it hard to agree on any at all. We are fine with girls - we have a couple of great names we are ready to whip and and use, but we cannot reveal these here - of course.

I must admit that my suggestions are sometimes designed to just give us something to argue and laugh about, but I have had some that I have liked and been serious about.

In an effort to get over this 'issue' before the boy is with us in this world, I have been giving the boy a different name each day and 'trying' it on fror size. I has been kind of strange at first, but I'd recommend it for it's ability to bring one closer to the little tyke.

So far I have used:
  • Bob
  • Frank
  • Percy
  • Fin
  • Sharkbait
  • Joe or Jo or Joey (maybe these should have had separate days?)
  • Bevan (as in Bevan Addinsall from Young Talent Time - obviously this didn't far ... )
  • Hamish (this one is looking good - this is Emma's father's Scottish name, i.e. James)

  • If there are any suggestions, PLEASE let us know.

    getting to know the boy

i feel a growing affinity with the 'boy' now that he has more of an identity and a shape and all that ... I wonder what he's doing right now? I wonder what he's thinking? Apparently he can hear my voice and is growing accustomed to it. So I try to chat with him at times - when Emma will let me get that close of course, but I'm very excited.

Nat and Stace had their little fella yesterday - William. Welcome to this crazy world Will. Hope you enjoy your stay - you'll have a little mate soon!

    it's a BOY!

Today we sat in a dark room and discovered that we are having a little boy ...

It was quite a spin out, seeing this little alien peeking back at us. Everything's fine so far - ten fingers and ten toes, strong heart, all in the right proportions.

We have some pictures which I will scan and post, and a video (which I'm sure we will never look at again - an $11 con job!) Afterwards we strolled around the man-made lake outside the hospital - a nice breather - today was a tough one for me, work wise. I'm glad we took the time to come to the ultrasound together - we really do need to spend some more time together - it never feels like enough. KB tells me to get all the time you can now b/c it's harder afterwards! Coping with life is tough enough now - so this worries me a little. Ah, you gotta lauf!

E has forgotten her blogger password already - she's had it for at least 20 hours! This whole absent minded thing is very cute ... but I'm waiting for her to forget me and my role in this whole thing.

    20 weeks and counting

We have waited way too long to start this blog, so without wasting any more, here we are ...

We have had pretty smooth sailing most of the last 20 weeks, but things are getting progressively more exciting and anxious. This Thursday we have our first ultrasound and are able to find out the sex of the little bub.

Of course we are also excited to have a peek and find out what is going on inside ...
